Visiting the mountains in summer is a breathtaking experience. Peaceful surroundings, fresh water lakes and exhilarating mountain bikes trails make this the ideal holiday destination for both sun seekers and adrenalin junkies.

Les Gets and Chatel are famous for their mountain bike down hill courses and in June/July the Portes Du Soleil celebrates the summer season by hosting the Pass Portes Du Soleil an 80km biking event covering the Portes Du Soleil area – open to all keen bikers.
Free-ride enthusiasts will find all the conditions they appreciate the most: long descents through Alpine meadows, forests, fording rivers…highlighting the diversity of the countryside here.
Starting from Morzine, the Pleney and the Super Morzine gondola lifts give effortless access to signposted routes for all levels. This activity is in no way reserved for high-class athletes; here a mountain bike ride can easily end up as a siesta in the middle of an Alpine meadow.
Good to know: There’s 50% off a summer 2006 season lift-pass when you show your Portes du Soleil 2005/2006 winter season lift-pass.
Pleney’s permanent downhill run has already seduced a large number of professional mountain bikers from the French international riders of the Avalanche Cup to the Free Raid Classic Mountain Bike mag riders. Accessible via the Pleney gondola lift, this permanent downhill run is both fun and technical, covering 3250 m in length with a total vertical drop of 560 me. Open to all, there are a certain number of deviations that miss out the harder bits…

The whole Portes du Soleil area's lifts are open from 30th June to 3rd of September.
Don't miss this summer : The PassPortes du Soleil MTB, from 30th June to 2nd July.
